TREKKING IN NEPAL

Trekking is one of the biggest attractions of Nepal. Trekking in Nepal was started in the early 1960s. The word 'Trekking' means a constant walking being in close contact with nature at a slow pace in the areas where life style is unchanged. There are two major treks in Nepal, Everest Base Camp trekking and trekking around Annapurna also known as Annapurna Circuit as it goes right around the Annapurna Himalayan range. There are many different treks available in the Everest and Annapurna regions. Another popular destination in the Everest region is the Gokyo valley, its Lake and Gokyo Ri for the massive views of Mt. Everest, Cho Oyu and Lhotse.

PEAK CLIMBING

Nepal is a small area of land, rectangular in shape, located between China and India. It has a varied land height from 65 meters to the top of the world at 8848 meters. Within this periphery, Nepal has numerous peaks to offer adventure, ranging in height from 5500 meters to mountain expeditions of 8848 meters. Among these 33 peaks are regulated by the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), while the rest are controlled by the Ministry of Tourism. The NMA regulated 33 peaks are termed Trekking Peaks. The title may suggest that these peaks are easier to climb than expedition peaks, but this is not necessarily true and they are technically very demanding.

EXPEDITION

Nepal is best known for its mountains and mountaineering. Unlike elsewhere, one can find here a big concentration of high snow capped mountains, including some of the highest climbing peaks in the world. Everest obviously comes to mind when people talk about Nepal, but what is less often known is that Nepal boasts seven other peaks which are above 8000 meters, namely Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu and Annapurna. There are innumerable others between six and eight thousand meters - currently 326 opened for mountaineering expeditions. Among these 119 peaks are still unclimbed.

Tibet Trekking

TREKKING IN TIBET

Tibet, popularly known as the “Roof of the World" lies at an average height of 4,000 meters (16,500ft) above the sea level. It is also the highest plateau of the world. The highest mountain in Tibet is non-other than Mt. Everest (8848m). Lhasa is the capital city of Tibet. Tibet is considered one of the most interesting, mysterious, enchanting, remote and underdeveloped regions of the world.  Buddhism is believed to have transformed the population from a warring and aggressive to a peaceful, virtuous and gentle people, which is amazing. Its diverse climatic and geographical conditions strongly attract people of all types from historians, adventurers, to pilgrims.

TREKKING IN BHUTAN

Bhutan – natively called ‘Druk Yul’ (Land of the Thunder Dragon) is regarded as the lost paradise on the earth. Its isolation, spectacular mountains, wide range of flora and fauna, age-old Buddhist culture, vibrant traditions with mystic aura have made it a real ‘Land of the Thunder Dragon’. Although Bhutan is small in size (47,000sq.km. with a population of 600,000), its topography offers dramatic contrast, ranging from its southern border of 300m, to the height of 7,000m in the north, where the Himalaya borders with the Tibetan plateau of China. It is encircled by the Indian states of West Bengal, Assam and Arunanchal Pradesh.

JUNGLE SAFARI

Apart from the scenic views, glaciers and lakes, majestic Himalayas, spectacular mountains, clear waterfalls and raging rivers, Nepal has yet another popular activity to offer - the jungle safari adventures. The geography of Nepal can be divided into high mountains, mid hills and low lands. A wide range of ecosystems, from sub-tropical jungles of the Terai to the arctic conditions of Himalayan highlands are found within an area of 147,181sq.km. There are a total of 9 national parks, 3 wildlife reserves, 3 conservation areas and 1 hunting reserve, including 11 buffer zone areas.

CULTURAL TOURS

Kathmandu is the historical center of Nepal and the place where kingdoms rose and fell. This is the city of palaces and temples. Kathmandu valley itself is a big museum - a vast store of Hindu and Buddhist art and culture rich in shrines and temples. Some of these are listed as UNESCO world Heritage Sites and here we are going to make a cultural tour of such places in and out of the Kathmandu valley. The history of Kathmandu valley begins with the Swoyambhunath temple. The 36 meter tall and one of the largest Stupas in the world is also known as the Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal.
